'Thoughtful, well-written songs with a warmth which really appeals, impossible not to enjoy!' Rich Wakefield

Having learnt to play the piano from a young age, Becky began composing songs at the age of 15. Her passion for music threaded through into adulthood where she continued performing on stage in choirs and groups. Having a young family kept her busy, but as they grew older she rediscovered her love for songwriting and began writing folk songs influenced by the stories of her family who came from Staithes, Hutton-Le-Hole and the villages around the North Yorkshire Moors. Some of these songs can be heard on her first two EPs - 'Reckoning Penny' and 'Stars'.

'A beautiful voice and excellent guitar playing, enchanting the audience.' Music in Leicester.

Becky draws on diverse musical influences from songwriters such as Dar Williams, Carol King, Kate Bush and groups like Fleetwood Mac and Fairport Convention. Her voice, which was classically trained in her youth, has been described as 'enchanting' and her gentle fingerstyle guitar playing complements her songs well.

Recently, Becky has taken her songs to the stage and performed alongside singer-songwriters such as Edwina Hayes, Al Murray, Iona Lane and more. She continues to delight audiences, making each performance a warm and intimate event.
'Let these songs be our landscapes,
let my words paint the view,
you can share them with me,
I will write them for you.'
The Music Room', Becky Foord.
